You have been doing really well with your blogs. Especially some of you seem to be natural bloggers!
Please stop your weekly blogs for a couple of weeks and focus on your professional article and your FADs.
I need to have all articles and FADs no later than 1 May to allow me to have a look at them before I meet you and before the final submission date. In other words 1 + 4 (one article, and four FADs). The article is individual work but you are welcome to finalise the FADs in pairs or groups if that suits you. The article may also be turned into one of the four FADs.
Use what you have learnt abroad! Include it in FADs and article in combination with work done in Mørkhøj.
Some interesting questions have been raised on the blogs. I would like to discuss some of these when you get back as well as focus on exam preparation. Help the discussions by giving us input to start with - I have encouraged a few of you on the blog.
One area most of you - not surprisingly - are interested in is culture, diversity and the like. I just received a mail with information on 21 May being the UN day for cultural diversity - and with this interesting new charter for cultural institutions:

This blog is the website of the International Programme at UCC / Blaagaard-KDAS Teacher Education. During the spring term of 2011 all students will be studying abroad, and this blog will act as a common link between students and college.

Recordings from the classroom
I wonder if it would be possible for you to make video recordings from your classrooms - if you're still doing placement? It would be fun and interesting for yourselves as well as future international students to have such recordings from different European classrooms.
If you consider doing recordings, remember to get permission, also for showing them in Denmark to other student teachers.
Have a nice weekend!

Busy, busy,busy..... also with FADs and TEFL articles.....
This week I have not managed to read your blogs - I am so sorry. I have been extremely busy in a working group writing a new version of the college curriculum ('studieordning'), so I've got a reason but not really an excuse.
I have, however, managed to meet with Rebekka in person. That was nice :-)
Next week I will be going to Vejle to talk to their teachers about internationalisation and what can they expect to get from NQTs (newly qualified teachers). Benita will be joining me. Any suggestions for what we should tell them? What can you do that present teachers cannot?
Could you start writing your FADs and the article and put them on your blog, please? Remember, I cannot change the final submission deadline.
Have a lovely weekend whereever you are.

I have really enjoyed reading your blogs...
I can't help being slightly envious of all the interesting experiences you're having both with regard to studying and in your spare time.
Conditions are very different - as we know. Some of you have been lucky and are offered full courses with lots of interesting material to get into. Others have been less lucky and are offered few courses and perhaps even irrelevant ones and difficult studying conditions.
This week I would recommend that you all have a look at these blogs:
Alen describes some extremely interesting courses in Zürich and also how he is taking a professional stand on methods and approaches for English teaching.
Ane describes life in England and Bath which she finds personally rewarding but challenging with regard to what is being offered at the university.
Benita finds disinterested teenagers quite a challenge and is getting into some very interesting work and reflection on creativity and the use of film and music in teaching.
Mie is getting used to Norwegian temperatures and has come across a fascinating intercultural museum. She is also getting into some interesting work on globalisation and its importance for teaching.
Rebekka has experienced a real Finnish exam situation and is studying SEN (special educational needs) and inclusion in Finland and Denmark. She is currently on a trip to Lapland.
Sami describes his excellent contact to his placement teacher and gives a list of the extensive number of courses offered in Zürich.
Have a look - and drop them a comment.
And this is for your enjoyment - one of my favourite videos:

Win fabulous prizes!
Make a video about studying abroad
Have a look here: http://www.gribverden.dk/videoer/This is one of the videos uploaded for the competition - can you do better?
Good luck!
Rules for participation are simple:
Blogging, blogging...
What a lot of interesting blog posts you have written!
Some of you are experiencing a lot of challenges just getting courses and placements to work. Not everybody is well organised - but this is part of the experience, I think.
Some of you experience excellent and extremely relevant courses. I would love to hear what we can learn - you may have links, ideas, materials and publicized notes than can be used for the international programme in the future. I hope to hear more when you return.
Some questions for reflection that I was left with from my readings are:
- What is the balance between good teaching and surviving as a teacher?
- What can you, as a teacher, learn from unsuccesful lessons and completely disinterested learners?
- Can you learn to speak English if all the course work is written or in the L1?
- What do you do if you find yourself in unstructured - or perhaps even chaotic - surroundings? As a student and as a teacher?
- Is inclusion always the best option?
- Should we establish Friendship Networks for people from different countries to meet each other and meet the Danes?
- What can we learn about teacher education from other European countries?
Have you noticed Egon's interesting input at skolekom, hele Blaagaard-KDAS? It also includes his son's experience of being a pupil in an American school.
I'll read again next week - on 2 March - if not sooner.
Have fun.

Extra ECTS points for the Malmø crowd
- Assignment 1: What working partners does the International Line need? Find the people/organisation and make contact with the right person and find out what they can do for the International Line (like Amnesty International, Folkekirkens Nødhjælp, Danida... any other organisation that will be willing to cooperate (free of charge) - I think Benita is working with Salaam.)Make the arrangements.
- Assignment 2: (contact Lilian?) Help write an article (a real one - for publication) together with Line from Enghavegaard about the different projects that have run B/K-Enghavegaard.
- Assignment 3: You may have a brilliant idea of your own. If so, check with me that it is ok before you do the work! :-)
